Første sommersignering i boks

Nå har Bolton Wanderers startet jobben med å hente inn forserkninger. Først ut er en midtspiss.

Det er 25 år gamle Sam Dalby som har signert en fireårs kontrakt. Han slutter seg til Bolton i slutten av juni når han kontrakt med Wrexham er ferdig.

Dalby ble født i Leytonstone og startet sin seniorkarriere hos Leyton Orient. Hans potensial ga ham overganger til Leeds United og deretter Watford. Låneperioder hos Morecambe, Stockport County og Woking ga ham ytterligere utviklingserfaring.

Han hadde deretter en svært god sesong hos Southend United i National League, hvor han scoret ti mål. Denne perioden førte til overgangen hans til Wrexham. 

Sist sesong var Dalby utlånt fra Wrexham til skotske Dundee United. Der spilte han 35 kamper og scorte 15 mål.

Boltons trener, Steven Schumacher, sa følgende til bwfc.co.uk etter at Dalby signerte:

– We are all very pleased to welcome Sam to Bolton Wanderers. He is a player whose progress we have monitored closely, and to bring him to the club, especially considering the strong interest from elsewhere, is a fantastic piece of business for us. 

Schumacher sier videre:

– He gives us a different attacking profile with his physical presence and his eye for goal. At 25, he’s at an excellent age, with his best years ahead of him, and we’re excited to work with him and help him develop further. We were looking for a player who could add a different dynamic to our frontline, and Sam fits that requirement perfectly.

Sam Dalby selv er veldig fornøyd med å komme til Bolton Wanderers.

As soon as I became aware of the interest and spoke with Fergal and Steven about their plans, it was a straightforward decision for me. I had a very positive season last year, and I’m eager to carry that momentum forward, contribute with goals and help the team achieve our objectives.
