Spillervurderinger Bolton – Aston Villa U21

The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter kampen tirsdag 8. oktober.

Vurderingene etter 1-1 hjemme mot Aston Villa U21 i EFL trophy er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.

LUKE HUTCHINSON…5.5.

Hardly involved but to pick the ball out of his net in 90 minutes, then four times in the shootout. Not the debut he would have wanted – but there will be other chances.

JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…5.

Moved into the middle and implicated in the poor defending for Villa’s goal but otherwise went about his business in a fairly economic way.

RICARDO SANTOS…5.5.

Didn’t really need to get out of first gear for the most part but maybe let his concentration slip when the cross came in for the opening goal.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…5.

Scattergun with the ball at times and guilty of trying a bit too hard to force something when the clock started ticking down in the second half.

LUKE MATHESON…5.5.

Had a bright first half and got forward well but his success rate waned as the night went on. Needs regular football.

JAY MATETE…4.5.Seemed to spend the night going around in circles. Wanderers needed some midfield incision, but Matete struggled to cut through.

GEORGE THOMASON…5.5.

Disappointing penalty and a largely forgettable game going forward, albeit he kept winning back possession for Wanderers and covered well at the back.

KLAIDI LOLOS…5.5.

Desperate to break through and had two efforts saved superbly by the Villa keeper. The shoot-on-sight policy wore thin after a while, though.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…3.

Scrub that one from the record. Williams looked way off the pace in just about every conceivable part of the game.

JOHN MCATEE…5.5.

Ran hard early on and had a couple of chances. Couldn’t get himself into it in the second half, though, even after dropping deeper as a number 10.

AARON COLLINS…4.5.

But for his assist for Adeboyejo’s goal, his impact on the game was very weak indeed. The penalty miss compounded a really poor night.

Subs: Adeboyejo 6.5, 62 (for Lolos), Dempsey 75 (for Matete), Inwood 75 (for Williams).
