Spillervurderinger Bolton – Barnsley

player-rating

The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter 2-3 tapet hjemme mot Barnsley tirsdag 7. mai.

Vurderingene er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.

NATHAN BAXTER…6.5.

Had to fish the ball out of his net three times but didn’t do much wrong on the night. Never had to produce any of the magic he did in the first leg.

GETHIN JONES…7.5.

Other than being bulldozed by Cosgrove for the first goal, this was one of his best performances of the campaign. Got forward, used the ball well.

RICARDO SANTOS…5.5.

Considering how well he’d played in the first game, his errors in this one were a real surprise. Won lots in the air but needed to be more sensible.

EOIN TOAL…7.

Came up with the goods just before half time and defended his penalty box well on the night. Stayed strong towards the end when Barnsley pressed.

JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.

His pace was a constant worry for Josh Earl and he worked the right flank well with Maghoma and Jones for most of the game.

PARIS MAGHOMA…6.5.

Maybe guilty of over-playing towards the end, leading to Barnsley’s third. Before half time he looked like the best player on the park.

JOSH SHEEHAN…6.5.

Kept the ball as well as anyone for the first 50 minutes or so but his influence on the game waned the later it went.

GEORGE THOMASON…6.

Never wanted for effort but his decision-making on the day could definitely have improved. Not taking the shot on just before Barnsley’s third was a big turning point.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…7.5.

Like Dacres-Cogley, his pace just always kept the visitors on their toes. Has had a couple of big games for Bolton in the play-offs.

DION CHARLES…6.5.

Had a couple of half-chances but couldn’t get quite as involved as he did in the first game. Never stopped chasing, though.

AARON COLLINS…7.5.

Produced a moment of magic which sent the stadium into raptures. His movement on the night was first class.

Subs: Dempsey 75 (for Maghoma), Adeboyejo 80 (for Charles), Jerome 80 (for Collins), Morley 84 (for Sheehan).
