Spillervurderinger Bolton – Barnsley

The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter kampen torsdag 26. desember.
Vurderingene etter 1-2 tapet hjemme mot Barnsley er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.
NATHAN BAXTER…6.
His two big saves came at crucial times and gave Wanderers a fighting chance of preserving their lead. Distribution remains an issue.
WILL FORRESTER…5.5.
Deserved to stay in the side after Wycombe and defended well enough when the ball came into the box but his limitations on the ball did show up at times.
RICARDO SANTOS…6.
Had very few troubles marshalling Watters and won what he needed to win in the air. Humphrys’ appearance off the bench tipped the scales in Barnsley’s favour.
GETHIN JONES…4.5.
Difficult game for the vice-captain, who appeared to lose his man for the first goal and made a few poor choices on the ball.
RANDELL WILLIAMS…5.5.
Had quite a positive first half and looked a decent outlet for Bolton, yet he faded after the break and failed to put a glove on Keilor-Dunn for the equaliser.
KLAIDI LOLOS…6.
Burst into the game with a well-taken goal and the kind of intelligence on the ball Wanderers had been lacking to that point. Had little impact thereafter.
GEORGE THOMASON…4.
Dropped into a deeper role in Matete and Sheehan’s absence but really struggled to get himself going. Passes went astray, markers went missing. A mess, really.
SCOTT ARFIELD…6.
Tired very quickly after half time – but this was probably the best 45 minutes we have seen from the ex-Rangers man so far.
SZABI SCHON…5.
Did offer a few flashes down the left and got himself into some good positions in the first half. Like many others, however, he stayed in the dressing room at the break.
JOHN MCATEE…5.
Keen to do well against his former club and restored to a more familiar striker’s role, he did play a major part in the goal. Aside from that, slim pickings, really.
AARON COLLINS…4.5.
The first-half miss from six yards was hard to watch and had Bolton got on the board earlier, who knows how the game could have gone?
Subs: Dacres-Cogley 4, 65 (for Arfield) – Used in midfield. Hard to understand why.
Charles 71 (for McAtee), Osei-Tutu 71 (for Schon), Mendes Gomes 78 (for Lolos).
