Spillervurderinger Bolton – Huddersfield

player-rating

The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter cupkampen tirsdag 10. desember.

Vurderingene etter 3-1 seieren mot Huddersfield i EFL Trophy er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.

LUKE SOUTHWOOD…8.

You had to feel for him at the end when the clean sheet he had worked so hard to preserve disappeared. Some big saves at key moments, especially at 0-0.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Steady away. A couple of important blocks in the first half and though he didn’t get too much chance to venture forward, he used the ball economically.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

A much more comfortable evening for the big man, who was given some encouragement to step out and play, including one great ball for Schon.

WILL FORRESTER…7.5.

Another chance in the cup, and one he took with both hands. When the pressure was on in the second half, he came up with some important clearances.

JORDI OSEI-TUTU…7.5.

Does his start here mean we won’t see him from the off against Wigan? Who knows. His pace had Huddersfield on their toes all night.

GEORGE THOMASON…6.5.

A little wayward in the first half, perhaps finding his rhythm again. Second half was a different story and he nearly scored with a thunderbolt.

JAY MATETE…8.5.

Takes the game on in a different way to Sheehan and made the game an exciting one with his regular surges from deep. Growing in confidence on the ball.

KLAIDI LOLOS…7.

Starting to find his niche and able to show up in the penalty box with striker’s instincts too. His header for the opening goal was first rate.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…7.

His instinct is to cut in from the right, and sometimes that proves effective. Involved a lot more in this outing than he has been in his Trophy appearances so far.

DION CHARLES…7.5.

His build up play is often critiqued but this was Charles at his best. Unselfish running and some razor sharp link-ups fashioned some great chances.

VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6.5.

Took a little while to warm up but did get there, and the combinations with Charles were really effective either side of half time.

Subs: Schon 6, 56 (for Osei-Tutu) – One big chance that should have been converted.

McAtee 5, 70 (for Thomason) – On another day, he gets a brace like Collins.

Johnston 6, 70 (for Santos) – A brave block at the end from Wiles.

Collins 77 (for Adeboyejo), Dacres-Cogley 77 (for Williams).
