Spillervurderinger Bolton – Luton
The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter 1-2 tapet hjemme i FA cup kampen mot Luton Town tirsdag 18. januar.
Vurderingene er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.
NATHAN BAXTER…7.
A fine double save at the start of the second half after Clark had hit the post, Baxter was also in the wars as he tangled with Morris. Ask James Trafford how that ends up!
WILL FORRESTER…6.
Withdrawn at half time because of a back problem. He has been steady away to that point, starting off the move that led to the equalising goal.
RICARDO SANTOS…6.
Wasn’t as involved on the ball as normal, as Wanderers tried to bypass Luton’s press by playing quickly up to the strikers. Not at his imperious best – but a hell of a right winger impression.
EOIN TOAL…7.
Put in some crucial challenges and blocks when the visitors were turning the screw and also pushed on in the second half, delivering the cross that ‘could’ have led to the second goal.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…6.
Worked hard to atone for the mistake in possession that led to Luton’s opener. Bolton’s gameplan was a different one to the norm, so fulfilled a slightly different job.
JOSH SHEEHAN…7.5.
Had a 20-minute spell in the first half where he needed to get closer to Barkley – then things clicked. From there on in, he was completely dominant.
GEORGE THOMASON…9.
The best player on the pitch, and potentially his finest game for Bolton. Just how far has this young man come this season?
PARIS MAGHOMA…6.5.
Always looking to pass and probe, certainly not outclassed by the players around him. Might need a goal to get back to his sparkling best.
ZAC ASHWORTH…6.
Was a very big ask for the youngster to go up against Ogbene but he stuck to his task and has now started back-to-back games. Starting to prove his worth.
DION CHARLES…7.
In the right place at the right time once again for the first goal and now only three away from the 20 mark. Should there have been a second? There was a toenail in it.
VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…8.
Unplayable for a spell in the first half and now starting to find his confidence again after a rollercoaster season. Going to be a big player in the remaining months.
Subs: Iredale 6.5, 46 (for Forrester) – Came into his own in the second half.
Bodvarsson 76 (for Charles), Jerome 76 (for Adeboyejo), Morley 81 (for Maghoma).
