Spillervurderinger Bolton – Wrexham

The Bolton News har vurdert spillerne etter kampen søndag 18. august.

Vurderingene etter 0-0 hjemme mot Wrexham er gjort av Chief Football Writer i The Bolton News, Marc Iles.

NATHAN BAXTER…6.5.

Really only called upon a couple of times – once from close range to deny Marriott and another to parry away Fletcher’s stinging shot from the edge of the box. Reliable.

EOIN TOAL…7.

Wrexham were always going to test Bolton’s aerial prowess and Toal won plenty of his duels, including one far-post header that very nearly crept in.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

Confident stuff from the captain with the exception of one mistimed challenge on Cannon which earned him a yellow card. Otherwise excellent.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.5.

A fine return to the league line-up for Johnston, who repeatedly won his battles in the air and on the ground. Provided some of the day’s most insightful passing from the back too.

JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…6.

Looked to have an edge on McClean early doors but the veteran eventually got back on level terms. Wasted a few good crossing opportunities later in the game.

JOSH SHEEHAN…6.

Definitely busier than he was against Orient but one of those days where it didn’t come off for him. Maybe tried to hurry and force the issue at times.

GEORGE THOMASON…6.5.

A game suited to his more combative instincts, and Thomason certainly won the ball back several times with quick reading of the game or a well-timed challenge.

SZABI SCHON…7.

For the most part the Hungarian looked Bolton’s best outlet on the left and it proved a good battle against Revan. His defending was dogged and resilient too.

JOHN MCATEE…6.

There were a few moments where McAtee got his head up and picked out a cutting pass but wasn’t involved in the game for long spells.

AARON COLLINS…6.

Patrolled the pitch looking for possession and, like McAtee, produced a couple of exchanges which nearly produced something. Wasted a fair bit of possession too.

DION CHARLES…6.

The best chances fell his way, and while they were hardly gimmies, you sense a fully fit and firing Dion Charles would have buried one.

Subs: Dempsey 71 (for Collins), Adeboyejo 71 (for Charles), Osei-Tutu 76 (for Dacres-Cogley), Arfield 76 (for McAtee), Matete 82 (for Sheehan).
